The Light at the End of the Tunnel…

Maaaaan, June was one frustrating month. Sure, lots got done, but as they were little jobs, it didn’t seem like we got much further…

…until the end of the month, that is. All the farting about, touching up paintwork, building the joseki and shimoseki wall soffits, retouching the paint, having to re-skim walls where our noob technique let us down, fitting doors, fixing mistakes, repainting etc – finally paid off. We now have a recognisable shape to our building site that has suddenly appeared like Fudō Myōō appearing from the flames.

The walls are complete, the changing rooms are floored, the ceiling is almost fully painted. This weekend, the flooring went down. Still loads to do with putting the lighting up, finishing off the panelling, cladding the joseki/shimoseki soffits etc etc, but we can now see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Only a few days until opening night. Getting nervous.
